Music&Make

We love it when children come along to our workshops, so we we have decided to run some just for babies, toddlers and carers. We have joined forces with the fabulous talented Sally from Rhythm and Babes and the brilliantly family friendlyGraveney and Meadow in Tooting to run a weekly Creative Club for babies, toddlers and carers. Make or Shake with your little ones, and then enjoy a cuppa and yummy cake.  Starts 27th February!

MAKE
Wednesday mornings 10am to 11.30am

We will have different art and craft activities for toddlers and carers every week, from printing and finger painting, to making bags, flags and beautiful creatures. Expect lots of stamping, sticking, scrunching and squishing! Gillian has devised a programme of workshops suitable for toddlers at different developmental stages, allowing children and carers to explore colours, shapes, textures and different ways of making marks and creative expression. The sessions are designed for carers and toddlers to work together, learning and exploring with support from Gillian and access to a range of materials. Each session repeats the same familiar structure, with hellos, followed by a story introducing the creative activity that week. Then after the creative session, we have tidy-up time followed by an  activity using the things we have made together.

At our workshops you can make a mess, unleash your child’s creativity and meet like-minded local people. Then enjoy a cuppa and some yummy freshly made Graveney and Meadow cake.  The workshops are drop-in and all materials are provided. Cost £5 per child. Splash proof aprons will be provided, but these are messy play sessions so old clothes are advised.

MUSIC
Friday mornings 10am to 10.45am

Fun music classes for babies and toddlers. Sing-a-long and play instruments. Dance to the accordion. Wave flags and wiggle with bubbles.

Cost £5 per child.

Our tutors, Gillian and Sally, are very skilled family workshop facilitators, with tons of experience of working with pre-school children and designing workshops that ignite your child’s creativity. Full CRB checks and Public Liability Insurance in place.

Our hosts are the wonderful Graveney Meadow who are letting us take over their spacious restaurant area.

Cakes!

And did we mention the cakes!  After all that hard creative work, you can chill out in the retro splendor of the Graveney and Meadow lounge with a cuppa and freshly made cake from their in-house bakery.  We sampled the chocolate Guinness cake when we last visited, very yummy!

Our inspiration!

No child is too young to learn and express themselves through music, art and craft!  We love exploring all forms of creative expression with children and learning from them.  As children we were inspired by Tony Hart, and now by contemporary art teachers like Julie Voigt, Mary Ann Kohl and Susan Striker.
