Make Your Own Fete – Saturday 13th July

We have all sorts of treats lined up for you at our crafty fete.  Join us for a day of haberdashery happenings and sewing shenanigans at the The Railway Pub from 11am until 3pm.  Here are some of the fun and games we have lined up for you…

Pet Parade – make outfits for your toy pets and teddies for the toy pet parade
Vegetable sculptures – create animals and mystical creatures from fruit & veg kindly donated by Sheringhams.
Glamourous accessories– sew brooches, fascinators and adorn yourself
Flags to wave – print a flag and wave on the carnival
Silk screen print your own bag – perfect for the farmers market
Bet your buttons on the crafty roulette reel of fortune
Try your luck on the haberdashery tombola
Make doves for the Railway olive tree
Felting fishes – learn wet felting and make a bright fish
Painting by numbers – colour in our giant picture of The Railway
Seaside photos – take a peak through our end of pier board
Crafty Fortune teller – cross her palm with a button…
Roll a button – a game of skill and buttons!

And did we mention prizes!  We have been scouring the streets for the best vintage haberdashery treasures and crafting handmade gifts for you to win!

This event is part of the Streatham Festival and co-incides with the Lane & Vale Carnival and The Railway pub farmers market. The carnival parade will feature the famous Giant Mechanical Elephant, The Binbots, Bollywood Brass Band, Vintage Cars, and much more! A lively high energy carnival parade will depart Streatham Common at 10:30am with a second parade departing Streatham Vale at 12 noon. After the carnival and fete, take a stroll up Greyhound Lane to join the Streatham Festival on Streatham Common for a glamorous afternoon of dancing, tea and fun.
