In June we have two extra dates for our popular Upcycled Jewellery Workshop with Jeni in Tooting and Clapham / Battersea.  And a very special evening planned with the Craftivist’s and Save the Children’s #imapiece project which will be dropping into Streatham on their tour of the UK.

Upcycled Jewellery with Jeni

Our upcycled jewellery workshop will take place on Saturday 1st June in at the Gorringe Park Pub in Tooting, and on Monday 3rd June at Ben’s Canteen in Clapham/Battersea.
At this workshop, you can make earrings, bracelets, necklaces or brooches from our amazing collection of discarded jewels.  Silver plated earring hooks, chains and various stringing materials will be provided as well as our stash of pre-loved jewellery, beads and findings.  You will leave the workshop having made something from nothing!  You can even bring along your own unused and broken jewellery if you want, to make something particularly personal and cool. For inspiration have a look at what everyone  made at our previous upcycled jewellery workshops.

The workshops cost £20 and all materials and tutors are included.  We will provide tons of materials to choose from as well as lots of one-to-one help and demonstrations. Places will be limited to ensure lots of one to one help is on hand.  Suitable for beginners, no experience needed!  Please email Gillian at Crafty Pint to reserve a place.

Wednesday 12th June – Craftivist Collective’s  I’m A Piece Project

We are very pleased and excited to be part of the I’m a Piece tour and will be hosting the installation with a special evening of Craftivist projects and a short talk about the project and craft activism.  People from all around have contributed over 700 hand stitched jigsaw pieces (including our own Flaming Nora!).  This evening will be a chance for your to add your own piece of the jigsaw to the project.

This amazing collaboration between the Craftivist Collective, Save the Children and the craft community is touring the UK to support Save the Children’s Race Against Hunger Campaign.  This is what they say about the project..

“Life is like a puzzle, it all seems a mess but when it gets finished it looks brilliant. This project aims to show that we are all connected and our actions make a difference. There is no one solution to the problem of injustice but we can all play a part in a movement for change. We are supporting Save the Children because, as well as being a conscious consumer, this is a vital time to effect long-term change through campaigning and meeting your MP. We can’t miss this opportunity.”

You can read more about the unveiling of I’m a Piece here and here.

This will be a very special evening and we hope you can join us for an inspiring evening of Craftivism.  Instead of this month’s workshop fee, you are free to make a donation to Save the Children.
