Free launch workshop!

We are very excited to be teaming up with the wonderful Flaming Nora and  lovely people at The Railway Pub to launch Crafty Pint in Streatham.  The celebrate our first outing in Streatham, we have a free tote bag workshop this Saturday from 11am to 2pm.  You can pick from ready made silk screens to print up a bag with your favourite images from local Streatham Bridge shops.

We are very pleased to have support and encouragement from The Railway, especially as this is such a wonderful venue. Our workshop co-incides with the monthly Farmers Market, so after you’ve printed your bag, you can use it to pick up some yummy organic produce.

Support local shops!

The wonderful Streatham Bridge community has been badly affected by the closure of the bridge on Greyhound Road, so come along and support these brilliant local businesses.  I visited many of the shops to take pictures for the workshop and met lots of amazing people running unique and independent businesses, including a shoe repair shop which doubles up as museum to boxing and vintage shoe ephemera, a new beauty spa, polish delis packed to the rafters with all sorts of treats as well as the brilliantly named Doris the Florist!

New evening workshops!

We will be following up our tote bag workshop with regular monthly workshops every second Wednesday evening at The Railway from 7.30pm.  As with our other workshops, we will be inviting local artists and designers to run a different workshop each month.  We will also have guest speakers and film screenings. The workshops will usually be around £20, and the other events and screenings will be less.

Our first evening workshop will be the night before Valentines, so we will have a seasonally themed evening with our love token workshop!  We will bring fabulous valentines themed fabrics, including kitsch vintage inspired prints and mexican milagro hearts designs.  Team these up with beads, sequins and embroidery to make textiles you can give, keep, frame or make into lavender bags or cards.

The workshops cost £20 and all materials and tutors are included.  You can drop in on the evening, or if you would like to reserve a place, please email Gillian at Crafty Pint.
