Beautiful papercut workshop – Saturday 8th September

August 12, 2012 at 13:10 Leave a comment

We are in for a treat with our September workshop when we discover how to make beautiful paper cuts with talented paper artist  Eileen White. Paper cut illustration has gained popularity with the work of Rob Ryan and Nikki Mcclure, so we are very pleased to have Eileen join us to share her amazing skills.

Eileen will bring papers and objects for inspiration and guide you through the process of creating a paper cut from scratch.  She will begin with a quick drawing session based on inspiration gained from flowers, kitchen objects and inspiration boards.  Don’t worry if you feel you can’t draw as you can also trace images as well and we will help you.  You are also free to bring your own pictures for inspiration. I will also bring my collection of Rob Ryan and Nikki McClure work to help you develop your ideas.  Eileen will demonstrate how drawings can be turned into graphic, colourful silhouette surface patterns, enabling you to create your own individual work, which you can take away and frame or make into a card or attach to glass jars to make lanterns.
