Saturday October 22nd – Vintage haberdashery, pin pots, needle books and more!

Spend the afternoon delving into our collection of vintage and contemporary fabrics, trims and buttons to create your own set of vintage inspired sewing tools and haberdashery.

Make lovely pin cushion storage jars and haberdashery tapes from recycled materials in this 3 hour workshop run by Seaside Sisters.  These jars make great storage pots for spare buttons and all those little sewing things that find a way of hiding from you when you need them.

We will show you how to make them and provide all the materials, just come along and spend a happy afternnon making some useful and pretty things.  Once you have a jar fashioned to your liking, have a go at sewing a sweet little mouse or hedgehog pin cushion.

You’ll also be shown how to recycle fabric into bias binding using a special tool, an iron and a little bit of sewing. It’s a great trick to have up your sleeve as bias binding in pretty fabrics can be used to brighten up old clothes, make lovely bunting, wrap up presents or to fashion attractive hair bands and accessories.

These projects make great gifts. Taking this class could mean half your Christmas present list sorted!

This 3 hour workshop is £15 and includes tuition, materials and homemade cakes. You will be shown how to:
– Create pin cushion storage jars
– Sew hedgehog or mouse shaped pin cushions
– Make bias binding tape from vintage fabrics
